How to Perfume the Whole House with 2 Bay Leaves

By Lilias

The cold weather forces us to close all the windows in the house in winter. In the absence of ventilation, our interior gives off an odor that is not always pleasant. To deodorize and perfume your home, several tips are available to you. Like natural air fresheners, bay leaves are very popular for diffusing a pleasant scent. Discover how to perfume your home in winter with bay leaves.

1 – Homemade infusion

Let’s first look at one of the most popular and widely used methods, namely home brewing.

It’s not very difficult to prepare, you  just have to be very careful not to burn yourself  , so be very careful.

Well, all you have to do is fill a pot with hot water and put it on the stove over low heat. Then add 2 bay leaves and wait for them to start boiling.

Once boiled, the water will have generated a laurel-scented steam, all you have to do is spread it throughout all the rooms of the house.

You can first transfer the water to a bowl or another pan, or be very careful and  carry the pan around the rooms  , just let it sit for about ten minutes.

Reheat it if you see that it is no longer evaporating.

2 – Use a fabric bag

Place a few bay leaves in cloth bags and keep them in your closets and drawers to remove musty, stale smells from your clothes.

Tip:  To scent your clothes, you can choose to put fresh lavender leaves, coffee grounds or even scented soap flakes in your fabric bag.

3 – Use of radiator

  • Turn on your heater to warm up the house in winter.
  • Place 3 dry bay leaves on top.
  • Leave it on for as long as you want.
  • A good fragrance is released, the intensity of which increases over time.
