Tastes great, grandma’s dumplings, our old family recipe
1.5 tsp, leveled salt
1 pinch of nutmeg
720 g flour
3 eggs
2 L broth
350 ml milk
Instructions
This is how I do it, first sift the flour into a large bowl, then beat the eggs in (I beat each one separately into a cup first to see if it’s still good).
Then add salt and nutmeg and a good dash of milk.
Then stir everything together with a sturdy wooden spoon.
Then gradually pour in more milk until you have a tough dough that bubbles
Now bring 1.5 – 2 liters of broth or salt water to the boil and add the dough in portions with a large tablespoon (always dip it in the hot water beforehand, otherwise the dough won’t come off).
Then set the stove to medium.
Then The irregularly shaped dumplings are done as soon as they float to the top
Then The flour dumplings taste delicious as a side dish with roasted onions, bacon or sauce. If you have any left over, it’s even better fried in the evening.
