Low gas or low flame on stove: how to clean ceramic hob nozzles
This is how to clean the nozzles on your hob: with this method, your stove flame will be as vigorous as before.
After so many years of use, it is normal to notice a change in the intensity of the flame of the gas stove. In fact, a process of clogging of the nozzles begins, which makes it difficult for the flame to come out. It is a very annoying problem that can compromise the performance of what we cook and eat . There are foods that require cooking at high heat, such as some types of meat. Without the live flame, the result cannot be absolutely satisfactory.
In this article we show you a method to free the nozzles from any obstruction in a simple and autonomous way. Let’s see together how to proceed in this operation.
Weak Flame: How and Why It Happens
Over the years, this problem can affect even the newest stoves. After so many years and so many meals cooked on our ceramic hob, it is inevitable that it will happen. The holes in the burner crowns become clogged by various residues of grease, dirt and any type of liquid that may come out of the pans during cooking. The result is an irregular shape and above all a weak flame that can be more vigorous in some spots and slower in others.
A stove in perfect working order should have a silent, stable flame that does not produce any smoke and has a blue colour at the base. On the other hand, when it gives problems, it makes strange noises, changes intensity from one moment to the next, emits smoke and the flame is red and flickers. If all these characteristics appear in your kitchens, it is time to act and thoroughly clean the burner crowns and unclog them. This is how you can do it in the easiest way.
Eliminate the nozzle problem by following this method
To remedy this permanently and avoid further problems, it is possible to replace all the nozzles directly . However, this requires a considerable financial outlay. If you prefer to keep your hob and clean the burners, here is what you should do. The first step is to temporarily remove all the removable parts of the hob , i.e. the pan supports, flame spreaders and burners. Then open the gas knobs to allow any residual gas to escape completely from the pipes . Finally, make sure that all the nozzles are cold: otherwise it will be more difficult to unscrew the nozzles and you risk burning yourself.
The hob is then thoroughly cleaned with a vacuum cleaner to remove any residue and the hob is thoroughly sanitized with the help of a reamer. After having carried out this first operation, the vacuum cleaner must be used again to completely remove any peeling materials. You must proceed with this cleaning on each burner on the hob before reassembling everything as before.
To clean the nozzles carefully, you must disassemble them, unscrew them with a wrench by turning it counter-clockwise. The nozzle that is removed must be carefully cleaned with the help of sponges and specific detergents and left to act for a few hours . After this time, in fact, the detergent will be able to remove any traces of food and grease. Once rinsed and dried carefully, it can be reassembled. All that remains is to test the intensity of the flame: it will once again be strong and vigorous.
