This ingredient removes all the dirt from the toilet bowl – much stronger than baking soda

By Lilias

Remove yellow stains and dirt from the toilet bowl with just one ingredient. Simple and cheap method, here’s how to do it.

Keeping your  bathroom clean  and  disinfected  is essential for the  health  and  well-being  of those who use it. One of the  elements  that needs  a thorough cleaning  is the  toilet  . However,  cleaning it can sometimes be a difficult  task   , especially when there are  stubborn stains  and dirt   . Fortunately, there is a single  ingredient  that can help us  solve  this problem effectively:  bleach  . Let’s see how.

Why clean your toilet with bleach instead of baking soda?

Bleach is a  very powerful chemical   that has the ability to  kill  pathogens  and  bacteria  effectively  . This  sanitizing product  is easily found at  home  , and is very useful for  removing dirt and stains  from the  toilet lid.

When  used  to clean the   toilet  lid , bleach  can  easily  remove stubborn dirt stains  and  limescale  due to its ability to  chemically react  with  organic substances  . In addition, it is a  very effective disinfectant  and can   completely  eliminate bacteria and viruses  that may be present on the  surface of the toilet  .

This way, you get a  white  and  disinfected toilet lid   . For all these reasons,  bleach  is a   much more  effective solution  than  baking soda  to disinfect the toilet. In fact, baking soda is an alkaline substance and  can  be  used to  clean  the toilet lid  gently  .

However, it does not match the  effectiveness  of  bleach  when it comes to removing  stubborn dirt stains  and  lime deposits  . In addition, baking soda does not have the  disinfecting properties   of  bleach  and cannot  kill  bacteria and  viruses  on the surface of the toilet lid.

And then, let’s remember one last  detail  :  bleaching  allows us to obtain  effective results  with just one  product  . Baking soda  ,  on the other hand, must always  be combined  with at least one  second ingredient  .

How to remove dirt from the toilet with bleach

To use  bleach  to clean the  toilet lid  , you can follow  two methods  . If the  lid  is made of  plastic  and can therefore be  easily removed  , simply  remove it  and  immerse it  in a container or tub.

Mix a little water  with  the  bleach  in the container or tub. For  the quantities  , follow those indicated on the  product label  . Let the lid  soak  in this solution for  a few minutes  . When it turns  white  , it is ready to  be removed  from the water.

The  alternative method  to this is to apply the  bleach solution  directly onto the  toilet lid  with the help of a  sponge  . This method is useful if it is not possible to remove the   toilet  lid . We then let  the solution  sit for a few minutes  , and then use a  damp cloth  to rinse it off.

If we want to remove the  smell of bleach  , we can use a  sponge soaked  in  scented detergent  . Finally, just  dry  and  re-assemble the lid  if we have removed it.

Warnings to keep in mind

Bleach, as we have seen, is particularly  effective  at removing stains  and  dirt  from the  toilet lid  . This is due to its ability to  bleach and disinfect  simultaneously.

However, keep in mind that  bleach  is a  strong chemical  and should be used with  caution  . Before using it, it is important  to read the  label  instructions  carefully  and make sure you are wearing the  appropriate  protective clothing , such as gloves  and  goggles  .

Also, care should be taken   when using  bleach  in the presence of other   cleaning  products . Some products, such as ammonia ,  can  react  with bleach and produce  toxic fumes  . Therefore, be sure  not to mix  bleach with other  chemicals  .

For particularly stubborn stains,  concentrated bleach can be used  . However, be very  careful  when using  concentrated bleach  and  dilute it  appropriately. Also, it is important  to avoid  using  concentrated bleach  on  delicate surfaces.
