With toothpaste, you can clean the soleplate of your iron and make it shine. This is possible precisely because toothpaste contains abrasive agents that can remove traces of limescale. In this way, the iron will shine again as if it were new.

In fact, by using it very frequently, the iron tends to get dirty over time. Being in continuous contact with the fabrics, the plate becomes increasingly dirty and therefore tends to become opaque. Thus, because of these stains, the iron cannot slide on the clothes as it should.

Another problem that can damage the hotplate lies in the water in the boiler. In fact, the limescale present in this water comes out of the appropriate holes. This process, day after day, tends to clog the holes.

How to clean your iron!

Before cleaning the iron, it must first cool down completely, after using it, and obviously unplug it.

After that, you can clean the object without any problem. First, you must wash the iron with a mixture consisting of a small bowl filled with hot water and a tablespoon of liquid soap.

You must take an old toothbrush and bring a dab of toothpaste to the bristles, as if you were brushing your teeth.

Then, you must start rubbing vigorously on the soleplate starting from the tip until it covers the entire surface. Thanks to the toothbrush, you will be able to reach the most hidden and difficult places on the iron. Of course, you have to repeat this process several times until you see the plate completely shiny and clean.

In the end, you just have to rinse thoroughly to be able to get rid of all the toothpaste residue. After that, you just have to dry it with a clean towel. This way, you will not run the risk of leaving your iron wet.

If there are burn spots on your iron, you can use the same procedure, but it is advisable to use a mint toothpaste. The result will be perfect!
