The detergent that makes aluminum shine: our secret to keeping pots and pans like that
In our kitchens, we surely have aluminum accessories, pots and pans, which of course we would always like to keep clean and shiny.
However, aluminum is a material that tends to stain or lose its shine if not washed properly. Sometimes, a simple dish soap is not enough.
Despite this, we have at our disposal cheap and very effective DIY solutions to make aluminum objects in perfect condition.
DIY detergent to make aluminum shine
Get the following ingredients:
Marseille soap
2 tablespoons of washing powder
2 tablespoons of alcohol vinegar
100 ml of clear and concentrated detergent
1 liter of water
Grate the soap and put it in water over low heat to dissolve it.
Once melted, turn off the heat and add the other ingredients. Continue stirring to integrate the ingredients well.
The result should be a solution with a homogeneous and creamy consistency. Let it cool to room temperature.
Store it preferably in glass bottles and use it as if it were a normal dishwashing detergent.
Useful ingredients for cleaning and shining aluminum
If you do not want to prepare your own detergent to shine aluminum, know that there are natural ingredients that are very useful in this regard.
Sodium bicarbonate . Add two tablespoons of baking soda to your usual dish soap. Be careful, being an abrasive product, do not exaggerate with the quantities.
Lemon . It has bactericidal properties and helps clean aluminum. Place pieces of aluminum foil in a sink filled with water and immerse the aluminum elements for a few minutes. Finally, wash normally.
Alcohol vinegar . It is not only useful for disinfecting but it is very effective for making aluminum shine. In this case too, simply immerse the aluminum objects in a solution of water and white vinegar and then wash them normally.
