Use nutrient-rich substrate, with pH 5 to 7.5 (acidic to neutral).
Mix peat moss with potting soil in a 1:1 ratio.
Avoid excess moisture.
Position
Place in semi-shade, avoiding direct sunlight.
Watering
Water until the top soil is moist.
Do not let it dry out or become waterlogged.
Fertilization
Fertilize in spring and summer.
Use liquid fertilizer for plants with decorative leaves or slow release.
Do not fertilize in dry soil.
Reproduction
Cut a stem with an aerial root and two nodes.
Place in water away from the sun, changing the water every few days.
Transplant when it takes root.
Common diseases
Leaf spot: dark spots from overwatering, cut off affected leaves.
Root rot: yellow or black leaves, transplant to new soil.
Dry/brown leaves: too much light, change location.
