Goose Grass Tea Recipe

By Lesia

Goose grass (Galium aparine), also known as cleavers, is not only known for its health benefits but can also be used to make a refreshing and detoxifying tea. Here’s how you can prepare it:

Ingredients

  • 2 handfuls of fresh goose grass (or 2 tablespoons of dried goose grass)
  • 2 cups of water
  • Honey or lemon (optional, for taste)

Instructions

  1. Clean the Goose Grass:
Rinse the fresh goose grass thoroughly under cool water to remove any dirt or debris. If using dried goose grass, skip this step.
  2. Boil the Water:
In a saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil.

  1. Steep the Herb:
Reduce the heat and add the goose grass to the hot water. Let it simmer for 5-7 minutes if using fresh grass or 10 minutes if using dried.
  2. Strain the Tea:
Use a fine mesh strainer to pour the tea into a cup, removing the plant material.
  3. Add Flavor (Optional):
Enhance the flavor with a teaspoon of honey or a slice of lemon.
