Pain au chocolat is a classic French pastry, often eaten for breakfast or a coffee break. This quick and easy version uses ready-made puff pastry and chocolate bars. Simply roll the dough around the chocolate, brush with egg and bake for crispy, golden brown pain au chocolat in no time.

Ingredients
1 roll of puff pastry
Chocolate
Sugar
Powdered sugar
Preparation
Roll out a rectangular roll of puff pastry and cut it into 4 parts. Place a piece of chocolate on the dough and cover. Add another piece of chocolate and roll it up.
Brush the rolls with water and sprinkle with sugar before baking.
Bake at 200°C/392°F for 20 minutes and decorate with powdered sugar.
