Homemade Piedmontese Salad
This salad is quite famous but do you make it homemade? Personally, I don’t like the ready-made version at all, so I was a little angry with this salad, and then I tasted homemade… and I loved it!
Ingredients
- 200g diced ham
- Salt pepper
- 150g mayonnaise
- 10 large pickled pickles
- 600g “Charlotte” firm-fleshed potatoes
- 3 boiled eggs
- 400g firm tomatoes
Preparation
- Cook the potatoes with the skin on for 20 minutes in salted boiling water. Leave them to cool then peel them and cut them into large cubes.
- Wash the tomatoes, deseed them and cut them into small cubes.
- Arrange in a salad bowl, add the gherkins cut into slices, the diced ham, and the coarsely chopped hard-boiled eggs.
- Mix with the potatoes, and gently add the mayonnaise.
- Place in the refrigerator 1 hour before consuming.
