Upside-Down Apple Cake: You’ll Love It!

Ingredients
- 3 apples cut into quarters
- For the dough
- 150g (3/4 cup) sugar
- 220g butter
- 340 g (1 cup) honey
- 180 ml (3/4 cup) buttermilk
- 3 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 300 g (2 1/2 cups) flour
- 2 teaspoons of salt
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 10 g baking powder
- For the caramel
- 100g (1/2 cup) sugar
- 3 tablespoons of water
Preparation
- In saucepan, add sugar and water, cook over medium heat until caramelized, and top apples with prepared caramel.
- In another saucepan, cook the butter for 6 minutes over medium heat, mix with the honey, buttermilk, eggs, sugar and vanilla extract, sift the flour, baking powder, cinnamon and nutmeg and add salt. Pour over apples and caramel.
- Bake at 170°C (340°F) for 1 hour. Leave to cool for 15 minutes and serve.
