Chapati
The Chapati is a Tunisian sandwich, and not an Indian one which is a traditional bread without yeast and without yeast, these sandwiches that we usually eat in Tunisia, have become very popular, because they are very economical!
Ingredients and Preparation
- 400 g of fine semolina
- 600g flour
- 1.5 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp milk powder
- 4 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp baker’s yeast
- 1 tbsp sugar
- lukewarm water
- Mix all the dry ingredients then the oil and pick up with lukewarm water.
- knead until you have a homogeneous and smooth dough, and leave to rest for about 30 minutes then form 12 balls.
- Roll out each ball to a thickness of 1 cm on a floured surface and let double in volume.
- Cook the chapati over low heat for 5 minutes on each side.
- For the stuffing
- Make fries with 4 medium potatoes
- Mix 9 to 10 eggs with minced onions, salt, pepper and 1/2 tbsp of cumin then with a ladle, fry omelettes on a lightly oiled pan with a brush the same size as the loaves.
- Harissa mixed or not with olive oil
- Mechwiya or hmiss salad (I put in some and some not according to taste.
- A packet of special burger cheese
- Tuna and melted cheese
- For mounting
- Cut in half, spread the Harissa and the pepper salad on the base and the melted cheese on the other.
- Add the cumin flavored omelettes.
- Cover with special hamburger cheese. End cover with fries and tuna drained of its oil.
