Grandmother’s cream: the dessert to serve to surprise your guests! A creamy dessert that everyone will love!

Ingredients

  • 800 ml (3 ¼ cups) milk
  • 8 egg yolks
  • 1 lemon (zest)
  • 60g (½ cup) cornstarch
  • 180g (1 cup) sugar
  • 300 g (3 cups) biscuits, crumbled
  • Powdered sugar, pine nuts for serving

Preparation

  1. Heat milk and lemon zest until almost boiling.
  2. Whisk egg yolks with cornstarch and sugar.
  3. Pour a little hot milk over the yolks and whisk vigorously. Continue pouring the milk into the yolks and whisking.
  4. Return mixture to saucepan and heat over medium-low heat, whisking, for 10 minutes or until thickened and bubbly.
  5. Let the cream cool slightly, then pour it into the glasses, layering crumbled biscuits.
