French Toast Rolls: The Trick to Make Them Crispy and Delicious
French toast rolls are a simple and delicious recipe for breakfast or brunch. Slices of stale bread are dipped in a mixture of beaten eggs, milk, sugar and cinnamon, then pan-fried until golden brown and crispy. These rolls are often served with maple syrup or honey for a sweet and comforting breakfast.
Ingredients
- 300 g of flour 0
- 80 g of water
- 120 g of milk
- 7 g of brewer’s yeast
- 12 grams of sugar
- 4g salt
- 24 g of butter for the dough
- 2 gr of butter to insert in the cut of each sandwich before cooking
Preparation
- In a bowl, mix the water and milk, then crumble and dissolve the yeast and sugar.
- Then add the flour and salt. Work well until you obtain a homogeneous dough and let rise until it doubles.
- Then divide it into equal portions, let it rise for 40 minutes.
- Make a cut on each sandwich, sprinkle a little flour and insert a piece of butter. Bake at 400°F (200°) for 15/20 minutes.
