4 Egg Cooking Mistakes You Should Never Make Again

By liliaturcin5

Poached, fried or in an omelette, eggs are an integral part of our diet. The different ways of preparing it allow us to consume it regularly without getting bored. Unfortunately, cooking the egg can sometimes be quite tricky. And some mistakes come up frequently when it can totally change the taste of this delicate food. Worse still, they can alter the nutritional value of the egg.

1 – A PERFECT FRIED EGG

Accustomed to cooking with a frying pan, you are used to making eggs like this for your improvised romantic brunches. However, the cooking time for this diet recipe is random. We lose our Latin there. Should we wait for it to darken? The answer from us is no! On the one hand, it can create bad taste sensations. Then, in the long term, serious illnesses can result.

2 – DO NOT KEEP THEM COOL

For the conservation of eggs, there are two schools: old-fashioned, in the cupboard or in the fridge. When you don’t have a pantry, the refrigerator is highly recommended. How to keep them, once cool? “Leave the eggs in their box and away from any odorous food: the shell is porous, it can give an unpleasant taste”, explains Franklin Reinhard, manager of the restaurant Eggs and Co.

3 – COOKING EGGS IN THE MICROWAVE

Fancy a cocotte egg or an express hard-boiled egg? The temptation is then great to use your microwave, but be careful! Certain foods should never be heated in the microwave… If this technique seems practical and innocuous, it can indeed present risks. Your eggs may swell and explode when you dip the fork or spoon into them. You can also burn your mouth and repeatedly, the explosion can leave hearing damage due to its very high sound level.

4 – NEGLECT THE COLD WATER STEP BEFORE COOKING THE EGGS

Very often, it is very difficult to peel the eggs. And if we invent and test all the techniques imaginable to achieve this, everything does not always work as we would like. To peel eggs easily and very effectively, the secret is to soak them in cold water before cooking them. Leave to cook for the time necessary for boiling, then immerse them again in cold water to stop the cooking. All you have to do is let them cool before removing the shell. Thanks to these different tips, the membrane will come off without difficulty from the egg white!
