Phalanx: the plant that purifies the air at home, one is enough to eliminate harmful substances

By liliaturcin5

You will surely have heard of or seen the phalanx ( Chlorophytum comosum ), an ornamental plant native to the tropical forests of southern Africa and now widespread throughout the world.

This ornamental plant, widely available throughout Italy, was reported by a NASA study as among the best plants for purifying the air at home .

The phalanx , in fact, manages to absorb and block toxic and harmful substances which, surprising as it may seem, are present in almost all our homes.

Benzene, xylene, formaldehyde and carbon monoxide are all substances that are released from paints, glues and cleaning products, which our homes are full of. The phalanx blocks these substances, preventing their propagation in the air .

These substances have been associated with numerous health conditions, such as respiratory problems and, in more serious cases, even cancer.

The phalanx has long leaves, green in color and with a white band. The plant needs a lot of light and humidity, but direct exposure to the sun should be avoided.
