Poppy petal jam: a delicious and very simple recipe
Those lucky enough to live in the countryside will surely be used to seeing the beautiful expanses of poppies in bloom. These beautiful flowers are not only aesthetically beautiful, but can also be used in the kitchen.
Below we suggest a recipe which, although it may seem unusual, is truly creative and delicious: poppy jam .
Ingredients: 100 grams of poppy petals, 1 apple, 250 ml of water, juice of 2 lemons and 250 grams of sugar.
Wash the petals well and cut them into small pieces, then leave them to macerate in the juice of the two lemons for an hour.
Bring the water and sugar to the boil, then add an apple cut into pieces and cook over medium heat for about 10 minutes.
Add the petals with the lemon juice and lower the heat. Continue to cook for about 20 minutes.
Pour the still hot jam into a sterilized jar, close it and turn it upside down to vacuum. Allow the jam to cool for 12 hours before consuming it. Once opened, store in the fridge.
