Egg Shakchouka recipe. Simple and family
Egg Shakchouka recipe. Simple and family-friendly, a starter par excellence very present in Moroccan and Algerian cuisine.
Ingredients
- 4 cloves of garlic
- 1 red pepper, seeded and chopped
- 2 tbsp. tablespoons of olive oil, 2 sliced onions, 2 red peppers, sliced
- 2 sliced green peppers
- 400 g crushed tomatoes
- 4 eggs
- 2 tbsp. tablespoon fresh chopped parsley
- Salt and pepper
Preparation
- To prepare the egg shakchouka recipe: Chop the garlic and chili pepper until you have a paste. Heat the oil in a large frying pan, add the garlic and chilli and fry until browned. Add the onions, peppers and salt.
- Stir and cover and cook for 10-15 minutes, or until translucent.
- Meanwhile, drain the tomatoes and mash them to remove excess juice, reduce the heat and cook for about 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Season to taste.
- Preheat the oven to 200°C. Divide the Chakchouka into the baking dishes, make a hollow in the center of the dish to place an egg there.
- Bake in a hot oven for about 10 minutes, until the eggs are cooked. Garnish with parsley before serving.
