Light and Delicious Chicken Blanquette
Let yourself be tempted by this creamy chicken blanquette without wine and enjoy it with the whole family, an easy recipe made in no time and very tasty.
Ingredients
- 1 kg of chicken breasts
- 600 g of fresh button mushrooms
- 3 carrots
- 1 onion
- 2 cloves garlic
- 30g butter
- 2 cloves
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch or flour
- 20 cl of crème fraîche
- 1 vegetable or poultry broth
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 good pinch of grated Nutmeg
- Salt
- Pepper
Preparation
- Cut the chicken into large pieces and brown them lightly in a casserole dish with the melted butter.
- Add the stock cube, garlic cloves and grated onion, cloves, bay leaves and moisten with cold water, leave to cook covered while you prepare the vegetables.
- Peel the carrots. Cut them into pieces. Clean the button mushrooms and cut them into strips.
- Add them to the chicken, add salt, nutmeg and pepper. Boil the water. Then reduce the heat to medium and let simmer, covered, for 30 minutes until everything is well cooked. (If necessary, add water to always have broth).
- Mix the egg yolk with the crème fraîche in a salad bowl then add the cornstarch and whisk.
- Add broth taken from the casserole to the mixture, stirring constantly, then return everything to the casserole to thicken the sauce a little. Mix and adjust the seasoning.
- Serve hot with chicken and vegetables.
