6 Tips for Bleaching Clothes Without Chlorine to Be as White as the First Day
Fight against linen yellowed by time or stains, correct white linen faded by another color… We have often dreamed of being able to restore the whiteness of our linen in a few minutes before throwing it in the trash.
We provide you with 6 techniques and products with proven effectiveness for whitening your laundry.
1 – APPLE CIDER VINEGAR
Ingredients
- Half a cup of apple cider vinegar
Instructions
- Simply apply the apple vinegar to the clothing directly on the stain and leave for 30 minutes.
- Once the time is up, wash it as normal and, if it doesn’t come out completely the first time, repeat the procedure.
2 – LEMON
In your laundry drawer, pour your usual detergent and top up with the juice of a lemon. Lemon being particularly acidic, it will naturally restore shine to your laundry.
You can also put the lemon directly into the drum. To do this, cut your lemon into quarters, remove the seeds then put the lemon pieces in a fabric pouch.
3 – YEAST
Yeast is certainly commonly used in cooking, but it can also help you sober up your laundry. To use it for this purpose, nothing could be simpler: all you need to do is add a sachet of yeast to your usual detergent before washing. Then start your machine normally. You will be pleasantly surprised to find, at the end of the wash cycle, bright white laundry.
4 – USE WHITE VINEGAR
Laundry can be whitened by adding a dose of white vinegar during the machine wash cycle. White vinegar also softens fabrics, restoring shine and comfort to your clothes.
5 – CHOOSE 3% OXYGENATED WATER (OR HYDROGEN PEROXIDE) TO BLEACH YOUR LAUNDRY
This bleach without any chlorine added to your regular detergent can really whiten laundry. About half a cup will be enough of one of the best bleaches for all white colored clothes and t-shirts!
6 – BAKING SODA
Baking soda can be used in three ways. To preserve the color of white clothes in a washing machine, simply replace the fabric softener with this ecological product. It is also possible to mix it with regular laundry detergent.
If white tablecloths, clothes or curtains are covered with stains, it is recommended to:
- Make a paste from water and bicarbonate.
- Apply it to the affected surfaces.
- Leave to act for a moment.
- Scrub the stains with a brush or machine wash the laundry.
