Try the Recipe for this Natural Fertilizer and Apply It to Your Plants
Eggshells contain calcium and a number of other nutrients that would benefit your plants. More so, eggshell is a great way to protect your plants from pests and slugs.
This method uses water and eggshells to make an economical, nutrient-rich fertilizer for your houseplants and garden.
Ingredients
- Eggshells
- Unsalted cooking water for vegetables
- Utensils
- Watering can
- A large saucepan or pot
Instructions
- In a pot or large saucepan, bring unsalted water to a boil and cook your vegetables that you will reserve for your meals. At the end of cooking, keep the water from the vegetables.
- Roughly break egg shells into pieces and add them to the still hot water. Reserve.
- Once the water has cooled, leave to macerate for several more hours.
- All you have to do is water your plants or simply the soil in your garden to enrich it. To water your garden, use a rain watering can.
- Repeat watering 4 weeks later.
