6 Beauty Tips With Baking Soda

By liliaturcin5

If we were to count the number of times Grandma mentions her good old bicarbonate on this site, it would give thousands of occurrences. The reason is that it is simply incredible! Today’s article focuses instead on the beauty uses of this wonderful powder that is baking soda (or sodium bicarbonate).

1 – DEODORANT

As you know if you  keep a box of the stuff in your fridge, baking soda has regular aerating properties, making it a great  “do it yourself” deodorizer.

Simply mix it with water until it is damp (no liquid or glue) and apply to your  armpits to anticipate sweat stains  and personal stench. You can also include cornstarch for surprisingly better moistening-captivating ability.

Tip: include 3-5 drops of your most loved essential oil (my top picks are rose and lavender essential oils), combine everything and you are ready to go.

2 – FOR ELBOWS AND KNEES

Elbows and knees are two parts of our body that regularly suffer from dryness. If you want to moisturize, mix a little baking soda into your daily moisturizer. Then massage the dry areas to remove all rough edges.

3 – WHITEN YOUR TEETH

A movie actor’s smile, what do you think? Yes of course. Only before spending your money on a smile bar, use baking soda instead in the following ways. Put some baking soda on your toothpaste and start brushing your teeth as usual.

Our magical product helps accentuate the effect of brushing while whitening the enamel on your teeth! Bonus tip: Don’t overuse this super whitening tip otherwise the enamel on your teeth could be damaged. A wash of this type every 10 days is more than sufficient.

4 – FOR HEALTHY HAIR

Finally, baking soda can also help us find more beautiful, healthier hair. First action: it helps rid the hair of all residues that weigh it down and dull it (gels, hairspray, etc.). Result: our hair is silkier, shinier and easier to comb. Second action: it helps cleanse the scalp and in particular limit the formation of dandruff. In both cases, simply add a teaspoon of baking soda to your usual shampoo from time to time. A little help as simple as it is natural!

5 – HAND CARE

For healthy hands and nails, mix baking soda with water, then apply the remedy to your hands and leave for 5 minutes before rinsing. Baking soda will help remove dirt and dead skin cells.

6 – FOR FRESHER BREATH

halitosis (bad breath) is mainly due to oral and dental problems. The accumulation of food deposits between the teeth, sometimes favored by gingivitis (retraction of the gums) constitutes a source of development for bacteria, and it is they which release the gases which cause bad breath.

Instructions for use: brushing your teeth with bicarbonate often already helps to limit bad breath. But it can also be used as mouthwash and gargle: dilute 1 teaspoon of bicarbonate in a glass of lukewarm water. Rinse your mouth vigorously, circulating the bicarbonate water well throughout the oral cavity, if possible for several minutes. Finish with a gargle for 2 to 3 minutes.
