How to Plant and Grow Cilantro in Pots
Cilantro comes from a hardy variety that is actually easy to care for and fast growing. This aromatic plant is particularly suited to our climate and it will be easy to plant and sow at home or in an apartment vegetable garden by following these few instructions.
Instructions
- Now prepare a container that the strainer will fit into. Fill with clean filtered water. For better germination, you can add 1/2 teaspoon of any mineral fertilizer directly to the water.
- Place the strainer on top so that the bottom lightly touches the water. Sprinkle only 1/3 of all the seeds then add the rest every 5 to 7 days. This will prolong growth and you will have a good harvest for a long time because the seeds you plant later will yield a harvest after the ones that sprouted first.
- Keep the seeds moist at all times. To do this, you can place a towel soaked in water on top and spray it periodically with a spray bottle. When young shoots appear, the towel can be removed. Store the seeds in a warm, bright place out of direct sunlight.
- The fertilized water must be renewed every 15 days. In total, you will do this 3 to 4 times, depending on how many times you manage to harvest fresh cilantro at home.
