If there is one place in the house that deserves all the attention for smell, it is the toilet.

A place where all the circumstances add up to escape because the causes are numerous, humidity, mold not to mention natural needs.

This can inconvenience the residents of the premises but also the neighbors and guests who will at worst leave a bad impression.

So what to do, certainly multiple and diverse products are invading the market to give toilets a pleasant and refreshed scent. This has a cost, and yet there are specific and natural tips to get rid of urine odor, such as cloves.

To use it, two options are available to you. For the first, you will need a liter of water, 10 cloves, a few drops of peppermint essential oil and five tablespoons of baking soda. Mix all the ingredients and place the open bottle near your toilet.

For the second solution, you will only need an orange and some cloves to stick into the fruit (like in the photo above). After three months, repeat the operation to take full advantage of this 100% natural deodorizer.

Here are more tips for refreshing your toilet

  • Ventilate your toilets regularly: If you don’t have a window in the toilet, install a fan to eliminate humidity which causes bad odors.
  • The baking soda tip: Start by sprinkling the fine white powder in the bowl and leaving it to work for half an hour. Then, scrub the bowl with a brush to remove dirt and unpleasant odors, even the most stubborn urine odor.
  • White vinegar: Replace bleach with white vinegar to no longer have to deal with annoying scents. In fact, this cleaning essential helps absorb unpleasant odors coming from your cat’s litter box, the washing machine and the dishwasher. Start by soaking a sponge in vinegar and wiping the toilet seat and edges with it. Then use a toilet brush to scrub away the dirt thoroughly. Finally, use a microfiber cloth to dry and shine the targeted surfaces.
  • Essential oils: Their reputation is well-deserved since they help hide disgusting odors while releasing delectable freshness. To do this, diffuse lavender, rosemary, eucalyptus or lemongrass EO using a spray. A few drops are enough to perfume your toilets in addition to purifying the air throughout the house.
