How to remove grease from wooden furniture in your kitchen

By liliaturcin5

Maintaining cleanliness at home can be exhausting, especially in the bathroom and kitchen. Being two places that we are in every day, they get dirty very easily, which makes it somewhat difficult to keep everything clean as it was before.

Now, wooden kitchen furniture is a real headache. Since it is made of this material, grease tends to stick very easily and if we do not clean it in time, it sticks to the point of not being able to remove it with anything.

Although there are products that allow you to remove grease in a very simple way, these can damage the wood and give it an old or deteriorated appearance. To avoid this problem, we can resort to 2 cleaning tricks so that the wood of your furniture is clean and like new.

The tricks are:

1- Baking Soda

Ingredients to need:

  • Baking Soda c/n
  • sponge (traditional)

How to use:

  1. To begin, we moisten a sponge with warm water.
  2. Sprinkle baking soda on the wooden surface you want to clean.
  3. We rub with circular movements with the sponge until all the grease is completely removed.
  4. Finally, we dry with a clean, dry cloth.

Note: If the grease stain is old, repeat these steps one more time for a better finish.

2- Trick with Vegetable Oil and Baking Soda

Ingredients to need:

  • Vegetable oil c/n
  • Baking Soda c/n
  • 1 Toothbrush

How to use:

  1. In a container, we put vegetable oil and baking soda in equal parts (for example: 3 tablespoons of each ingredient) and mix until we achieve a homogeneous paste free of lumps.
  2. We spread this paste on the kitchen furniture with grease and rub vigorously with the toothbrush.
  3. Once the grease has been removed, wipe it with a clean, somewhat damp cloth.

Note: To save some time, you can use a larger brush but it must have soft bristles, this way we will avoid scratching the wooden surface.

And voila, with these two tricks you can have your kitchen furniture free of grease!
