To have a lemon softener, simply prepare a mixture by mixing 1 L of water with the juice of one and a half lemons.  Then use a measuring cup to pour the correct amount into the detergent drawer. The result will be super soft and fragrant clothes.

But this is not the only way to use lemon in the washing machine. We often wash clothes and other things without thinking about cleaning the washing machine itself.  However, like all appliances, the washing machine should be cleaned at least once a month so that it always works and does not release dirt on your clothes.

The first thing we should do is do a vacuum wash with lemon. Simply put a liter of water with the filtered juice of 2 lemons in the washing machine and start a wash at high temperatures. In this way the washing machine will be disinfected thanks to the action of the lemon.

Another problem is mold formation and lemon is a perfect solution to combat this problem. Mold formation is usually concentrated in certain areas such as the tray, the gasket and the basket.

For this reason, it is necessary to act directly on the affected areas with lemon juice and leave it to act for about 15 minutes before rubbing with a toothbrush to remove the mold stains.

For garnishes, however, you can prepare a mixture with water, juice of two lemons and lemon peel.  Place in a spray bottle and spray on the seal and especially in the folds where hair or dirt can accumulate. Then wipe with a damp cloth to clean.

Lemon can also be used to whiten clothes and restore the fabrics’ natural shine. Simply place a measuring cup with filtered lemon juice directly into the washing machine drum when washing. Otherwise, if you want to use a hand wash, you can fill a container with water with the juice of two lemons.

In any case, it is always better to read the instructions on the clothes and the washing machine, which always indicate how to proceed with washing or cleaning. You must first make sure these methods can be done before doing them and then ruining or breaking the washing machine beyond repair.
