The caprese in puff pastry: the excellent last minute appetizer!
The ingredients
We need these ingredients:
300 g of mozzarella
5 g of oregano
1 egg
200 g of tomato sauce
500 g of puff pastry
20 g of fresh basil
5 g of dry basil
The preparation
The first thing is to roll out the puff pastry on a work surface and divide it into four strips with a pastry wheel. Now on each of these strips we make oblique incisions on one of the two long sides. On the opposite side, now add a little tomato sauce with a spoon, then sprinkle with the oregano and basil.
Assembly and baking
At this point we brush the edges of the strips of pasta that we prepared at the beginning with a little water and then with our fingers we press on them so as to close them well. The filling should be visible through the pastry.
Now pour a little more tomato sauce in the center, sprinkle with dried basil and oregano and then put everything on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
We repeat the same moves that we have just described until we have ingredients. Then brush the puff pastry with a beaten egg. After that we just have to put it in the oven at two hundred degrees for about twenty minutes.
Good job, have fun and bon appetit!
