Pee stains on mattress, this ingredient you use in the kitchen removes everything

By liliaturcin5

Urine stains on the mattress are almost common. There isn’t a house that doesn’t have at least one. This inconvenience occurs especially if you have children. Even if at first glance it seems like a situation that can no longer be solved, there is no stain that cannot be removed with miraculous ingredients.

Pee stains

If the mattress is dirty with pee, all you have to remember is to clean it thoroughly, because this way we can  rest both the mind and the body  and enjoy a long, restful sleep day and night. It is precisely for this reason that  care must always be taken.  Each mattress  must undergo a special treatment at least once a month  that prevents the accumulation of dust and eliminates mites, which in the long term can also cause allergies or respiratory problems. Some even begin to suffer from insomnia due to dust and mites. Every time you change the bedding, it is advisable to vacuum it to remove any mites and prevent them from infesting the bed. Instead, a thorough cleaning  must be carried out once a month or at most every 2/3 months  .

How to remove urine stains from the mattress, when and how to do it

If you don’t really know what to do,  you just need to equip yourself with a few ingredients from the kitchen,  the pantry and a little patience. This way the mattress is practically like new again. You should also know that  in addition to the pee of children or adults, you can also use these ingredients to remove vomit stains.

To remove urine stains from the mattress, time is the first basic ingredient. The sooner you act, the better, because the more time passes, the greater the risk that the stain will set and never go away, causing streaks to appear. So you take an ingredient that  is considered an ally of housewives  because it proves useful in the kitchen in thousands of ways every day. This is sodium bicarbonate.

How to treat pee stains with bicarbonate

This ingredient is dissolved in hot water and then  rubbed vigorously directly onto the pee stains on the mattress.  When these have completely disappeared, air dry the mattress: it is better to take it out straight away, perhaps on the balcony or in the garden.

However, if you don’t have much space, you definitely need to dry with a hairdryer, even if it takes much longer. This process is essential because if the mattress remains damp, mold can form. The  result is a smell of dampness  that gradually forces us to throw away the mattress and replace it.

Vinegar as an alternative or ally to bicarbonate

A good alternative to baking soda could be vinegar.  Prepare a mixture of sodium bicarbonate and hot water and  add drops of essential oil. You can choose which one you prefer, although the lavender oils are particularly suitable as they allow you to rest better. Then take a sponge, dip it into the solution and  rub it vigorously over the pee stains on the mattress  until they disappear.

Here, as in the previous case, the mattress must  be dried in the fresh air or with a hairdryer.

Vomit stains, how to get rid of them completely, including stains

With vomit stains  you have to be a lot more patient and strong  because they rarely disappear without a trace. There is only a chance that the mattress will look like new if you act on time, correctly and with the right ingredients.

You should not use a special product  that could actually be so aggressive that it completely ruins the mattress without completely dissolving the stain. The best advice one can give in this case is to use steam. First we act with the hot jet, over and over again, because just one doesn’t solve the problem. Use several nozzles to loosen the dirt, the stain and the ring itself. The stain should already be much less noticeable. Then clean the area thoroughly with hot water and soap, rubbing vigorously  with a clean sponge.  Once finished, it is placed in the sun or  dried as best as possible.
