7 hotel tricks to clean your home faster and more thoroughly
The best advice regarding house cleaning always comes from the experts. In the case of hotels, for example, who better than those in charge of room cleaning can give us advice on how to clean more thoroughly and faster.
Hotel housekeepers often find themselves having to tidy up dozens of rooms a day, and each of them must be impeccably clean, whatever the conditions in which they are left by guests.
Below we suggest 7 tricks that are put into practice by those who clean hotel rooms , which will allow us to dedicate less time to household cleaning and obtain even better results .
1. Start by tidying up
Before you start cleaning, tidy up your room so you can better organize your cleaning. Start by emptying the trash bins, removing the sheets, picking up the dirty clothes and removing anything from the room that doesn’t belong there.
Tidying up before cleaning not only makes the job easier, but it also eliminates the temptation to clean around items or place them on a freshly cleaned, still damp surface.
2. Slap the curtains
Between a deep wash in the washing machine or a vacuum cleaner run, you can freshen up the curtains by giving them a few strokes with a tool that is as new as it is effective: a towel.
The towels are heavy enough to allow us to remove dust, but not so much that we tire or put our joints at risk.
Additionally, the fibers of the towels will collect dust and dirt that falls from the curtains. Once you’ve finished tucking the curtains, wash the towel and vacuum the area to remove any residue.
3. Vacuum twice
Before you go straight to the corners of the room and vacuum, vacuum the high-traffic areas as you enter the room. By doing this you will have vacuumed twice when you are done.
This method allows us to eliminate most of the dust during the first pass, and any residues during the second.
4. Let the cleaning products work
Hotel managers know that cleaning will be faster and easier if you give the products the time they need to do their job. The ingredients contained in cleaning products, whether natural or chemical, need time to penetrate the dirt and facilitate its elimination.
Leave the products to act for about ten minutes on the dirtiest surfaces, such as the toilet, the hob or the carpets.
5. Check the labels
How much time do you waste every time you have to put the sheets on trying to guess the correct angles?
The solution is very simple: locate the label on the sheets, which is almost always found in a corner. This label should always be placed on one of the corners of the bed, in most cases at the bottom right.
6. Make the faucets shine
Hotel housekeepers know that shiny faucets turn a fairly clean bathroom into a spotless one.
Remove stains and fingerprints from faucets by wiping with a little rubbing alcohol immediately after cleaning. It only takes a couple of seconds, but it really makes a difference.
7. Use vinegar to clean windows
Vinegar is one of the most useful and versatile natural products in household cleaning. In addition to cleaning and degreasing, it is also capable of disinfecting any type of surface.
This excellent natural product can also be used to clean windows: just spray a small amount on the surface of the glass or mirror and wipe with a clean cloth.
